Our athletes not only compete and strive in silat events, but also in other sports as well. As part of the cross-training program for the athletes, they are being taught different sports from silat to develop new skills and to also try out new sports - and one of those sports is Vovinam. Vovinam, short for Vo Viet Nam, is a Vietnamese sport. Vovinam involves the use of the hands, elbows, legs, knees and weapons such as swords, knives, chisels, claws, fans. Students also learn how to deal with hand-held weapons, counter-attacks, lock-ups, and levers.
